Global issues in the classroom

If we don’t teach children about the world, how will they know about the world? The world is becoming more and more of a global workplace and children need to be globally competent in order to participate. We need to teach teamwork because students will be working with others. We need to teach acceptance because the people they will be working with will most certainly be different then them. We need to teach current events from all over the world so they will be educated when they speak with others. So, yes, global issues should have a central place in the school’s curriculum.
